PODS-G (Passive Occupant Detection System) ECU

In order to make normal activation of airbag system, SRSCM detects DTC(s) for the Occupant Classification System.

SRSCM recognizes the signal as 2 (two) different classifications; that is, 0 (Empty/Child), 1 (Seat Occupied) With these signal, SRSCM determines whether it needs to deploy PAB (Passenger Airbag) or not.

NOTE: If any of the following conditions occur, 'Occupant Classification System (WCS, PODS, BOSE) Reset must be performed again after checking OCS Diagnostic Codes.
  1. PODS-G ECU or seat cushion assy is replaced.
  2. The telltale lamp is not illuminated when the passenger seat is not occupied.
  3. The telltale lamp is delayed more than 10 seconds to be turned off when an adult passenger seats in.
