DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
Case 1 DTC Strategy
  • Feedback defaults out by Load pulse
  1. Open in signal harness
  2. Open in ground harness
  3. Poor connection or damaged harness
  4. Faulty Heated O2 Sensor (HO2S)
Enable Conditions
  • Sensor voltage is higher than 0.4V and lower than 0.5V.
  • Battery voltage is higher than 10.7V.
  • Heat quantity from exhaust gas around downstream O2S is higher than 1~312kJ.
Threshold Value
  • Average of loaded voltage is higher than 2.8V.
Diagnosis Time
  • 3 sec
Case 2 DTC Strategy
  • Internal resistance is too high.(Open circuit)
Enable Conditions
  • Battery voltage is higher than 10.7V.
  • Exhaust gas temperature around downstream O2S is higher than 600°C (1112°F). Or
  • Heat quantity from exhaust gas around downstream O2S is higher than 1~312kJ.
Threshold Value
  • Internal resistance is higher than 40kΩ
Diagnosis Time
  • 3 sec
Case 3 DTC Strategy
  • O2S signal interrupt by heater
Enable Conditions
  • Battery voltage is higher than 10.7V.
  • Time after heat quantity from exhaust gas is higher than 1~312kJ for 10 seconds.
Threshold Value
  • The number of that the absolute value of downstream O2S voltage is greater than 2V for 0.04 sec after turning on and off a heater is more than or equal to 4 times.
Diagnosis Time
  • 2 sec
MIL On Condition
  • 2 Driving Cycles
