Repair Procedures: Removal
- Move the shift lever to 4th gear.
- Remove the air cleaner assembly and air duct.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "AIR CLEANER ")
- Remove the battery and battery tray.
(Refer to Engine Electrical System - "BATTERY ")
- Remove the engine control module (ECM).
(Refer to Engine Control System - "ECM ")
- Remove the snap pin (A-2ea) and then separate the shift & select cable (B) from the control bracket.
- Remove the shift lever knob & boots (A) pull both of it up.
- Remove the floor console assembly.
(Refer to Body - "FLOOR CONSOLE ")
- Remove the snap pin (A).
- Remove the select cable (A).
- Remove the shift cable.
- Remove the cable socket (A) after release the lock.
- Remove the clip, in the shape of a "U" (B), from the cable end by spreading it towards both sides.
- Remove the cable socket (A) after release the lock.
- Loosen the nuts (A-2ea) and then removing the cable retainer (B).
- Remove the control cable assembly from the vehicle.
