Repair Procedures: Removal
- Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Remove the drive belt. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "DRIVE BELT ")
- Remove the alternator "B" terminal tightening nut.
- Disconnect the alternator "B" cable (A) from the alternator "B" terminal.
- Disconnect the alternator connector (B)
Alternator "B" terminal tightening nut:
9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 Ib - ft)
- Lift the vehicle.
- Remove the compressor after loosening the mounting bolt. (Refer to Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning - "COMPRESSOR ")
- Remove the alternator (B) after removing the mounting bolts (A).
Alternator mounting bolt:
49.0 - 63.7 N.m (5.0 - 6.5 kgf.m, 36.2 - 47.0 lb - ft)
