Repair Procedures: Removal
- Turn OFF ignition switch and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
- Remove the air cleaner assembly.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "AIR CLEANER ")
- Remove the battery and battery tray.
(Refer to Engine Electrical System - "BATTERY ")
- Disconnect the neutral position switch connector (A) and the back up lamp switch (B).
- Remove the snap pin (A) and then separate the shift cable (B) and the select cable (C) from the bracket.
- Remove the control shaft complete (A).
Tightening torque:
9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)
