Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery (-) terminal.
  2. Remove the air cleaner.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "AIR CLEANER REPAIR PROCEDURES ")

  3. Remove the battery.

    (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "BATTERY REPAIR PROCEDURES ")

  4. Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor connector (A).

  5. Lift the vehicle.
  6. Remove the engine room under cover.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")

  7. Remove the electric water pump.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ELECTRIC WATER PUMP (EWP) REPAIR PROCEDURES ")

  8. Remove the protector (A) after loosening the mounting bolts.

    Crankshaft position sensor protector mounting bolt (M6): 

    9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)

  9. Remove the crankshaft position sensor (B) after loosening the mounting bolt (A).

    Crankshaft position sensor mounting bolt: 

    9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)
