Description & Operation: Description: Notes
Gasoline Particulate Filter (GPF) collects/screens out soot that can be created by the direct injection of gasoline into the engine. When the engine meets a certain set of conditions, the ECM burns the soot collected by the GPF with exhaust gas.
GPF sensors that are mounted at the front and rear of the GPF measure the temperature of the exhaust gas and use the information for GPF regeneration and GPF conditions monitoring.
EGR temperature sensor is used for temperature measurement and EGR bypass valve function diagnosis as well as thermal protection of EGR system.
