Unlocking Doors
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2024 Hyundai Kona. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
<Requirement>: All doors are locked and ACC and IGN OFF.
- Press the button on the door handle with the smart key in hand (Available in the driver/passenger doors).
- When the button is activated, the BDC (Body Domain Control Unit) uses the antenna on the door handle to find the smart key.
- The smart key transmits a response signal and data using an internal antenna, receives data from the BDC using a receiver, and verifies the authentication key.NOTE: The BDC can verify smart keys within 0.7 - 1 m (2.2 - 3.2 ft.) from the door handle.
- The BDC transmits a door unlock signal to the ICU (Integrated Central Control Unit) via the CAN communication line.
- After receiving the door unlock signal, the ICU executes all doors unlock operations.NOTE:
- It takes 0.5 seconds to open the door after pressing the button on the door handle, so if you pull the handle before 0.5 seconds, the door will not open.
- Door lock/unlock by smart key is possible only when all doors are closed.
