(Engine Control Module (ECM) Removal And Installation)

ABBREVIATED PROCEDURE

Work H/W Tightening torque N.m (kgf.m/lb-ft) SST/Equipment Chemical etc
Removal 
1 When replacing the ECM, perform the engine oil life backup and input procedure - - Diagnostic device - Refer to appropriate service information
2 Disconnect the battery (-) terminal - - - - -
3 Disconnect the ECM connector - - - - -
4 Remove the ECM Bolt/Nut 9.8 - 11.8 (1.0 - 1.2/7.2 - 8.7) - - -
5 Remove the ECM from the bracket after removing the nuts Bolt 9.8 - 11.8 (1.0 - 1.2/7.2 - 8.7) - - -
Installation 
Install in the reverse order of removal Refer to appropriate service information
Additional work 
  • When replacing OTA controller, use the diagnostic device to update S/W.

    (If the S/W update is not complete, OTA update is not possible.)

  • ECM Neutralization procedure (With smart key)
    • Use the diagnostic device to ECM neutralization procedure.
  • ETC module learning process
    • Use the diagnostic device to ETC module learning process.
  • VIN Programming Procedure
    • Use the diagnostic device to VIN programming procedure.
