Diagnostic Procedure 2

  1. Remove key from ignition switch. Unplug 8-pin connector from control unit. See Fig 1 . Control unit is located in trunk, on left side.

  2. Check for battery voltage at terminal No. 1. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair wire from fuse panel.
  3. Check for continuity between terminal No. 8, and ground. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair wire to ground.
  4. Unplug one-pin connector from control unit. Check for continuity between connector terminal and ground. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, check antenna circuit.
  5. Unplug 12-pin connector from control unit. See Fig 2 . Turn ignition off. Check for battery voltage at terminal No. 9 of connector. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, check and repair ignition switch circuit.

  6. Close all doors and trunk lid. Check for continuity between 6-pin connector terminal No. 4 and ground, and between 12-pin connector terminal No. 13 and ground. If continuity exists, check door switch circuit. If continuity does not exist, replace control unit.
