Diagnostic Procedure 4

  1. Unplug 8-pin connector from control unit. See Figure . Control unit is located in trunk, on right side. Check for battery voltage between connector terminal No. 2 and ground. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair wire back to fuse panel.
  2. Connect jumper wire between connector terminals No. 2 and No. 3. If trunk opener operates, replace control unit. If trunk opener does not operate, repair trunk opener circuit. See appropriate DOOR LOCKS & TRUNK RELEASE - POWER article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section.
