Diagnostic Procedure 8
- Unplug 16-pin connector from theft warning control unit. See Figure .Theft warning control unit is under dash, to right of steering column. Remove key from ignition switch. Close all doors and trunk lid. Check for battery voltage at connector terminal No. 11 when door unlock button is pressed on remote control unit.
- Voltage should drop to zero volts for about one second, then return to battery voltage. If operation is not as specified, go to next step. If operation is as specified, repair theft warning system. See ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section.
- Unplug control unit 12-pin connector. See Figure . Control unit is located in trunk, on right side. Check for continuity between terminal No. 20 of control unit connector and terminal No. 11 of theft warning control unit connector. If continuity exists, replace control unit. If continuity does not exist, repair wire between specified connector terminals.
