TCS Control Unit
- TCS control unit has one LED. See Figure and Figure . Self-diagnostic system is functioning as long as engine is running. To obtain complete self-diagnostic results, vehicle must be driven at least 19 MPH (30 km/h), then LED checked while engine is running. The malfunction code is indicated by number of LED flashes.
- A long (0.5 second) LED flash indicates number of ten digits. Short flash (0.3 second) indicates number of single digits. See Fig 1. For trouble code identification, see TCS TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION table. If TCS control unit displays Code 13, see THROTTLE CONTROL MODULE under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
- After reading codes, see TCS DIAGNOSTIC SYMPTOM CHART under SELF-DIAGNOSTICS to determine which test procedure to follow. This control unit does not have a memory for self-diagnostic results. The malfunction code is erased each time ignition switch is turned off.
