EGR System Check
- Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Disconnect vacuum line at EGR valve and connect vacuum gauge. Increase engine speed to 2000 RPM. Vacuum should be indicated on gauge.
- If vacuum is not indicated, check backpressure transducer and EGRC-solenoid valve. If components are okay, use a DVOM to check voltage at ECM terminal No. 102.
- With engine idling, voltmeter should read zero volts. At 2000 RPM, voltmeter should read battery voltage. See EGR SYSTEM INPUT SIGNALS table. Also check EGRC-solenoid power supply and harness between ECM and EGRC-solenoid for open or short circuit.
