Fail-Safe Mode: Notes
Fail-safe mode monitors system for malfunctions. If any of the following conditions is detected, CRUISE indicator light will flash every 0.4 second, and fail-safe mode will deactivate ASCD operation.
- Stuck ASCD Steering Switch (RESUME/ACCEL, CANCEL, SET/COAST)
- Open Or Shorted Vacuum Motor Ground/Power Circuit
- Open Or Shorted Air Valve Ground/Power Circuit
- Open Or Shorted Release Valve Ground/Power Circuit
- Faulty Vehicle Speed Sensor
- Faulty ASCD Control Unit Internal Circuit
- Faulty ASCD Cancel Switch Or Stoplight Switch
Except for faulty ASCD cancel switch or stoplight switch, all other listed malfunctions will cause cancellation of vehicle speed memory.
