Diagnostic Procedure 2

  1. Remove key from ignition switch. Unplug 8-pin connector from control unit. Control unit is located in trunk, on right side.
  2. Check for battery voltage at terminal No. 2 of connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair wire from fuse panel.
  3. Check for continuity between ground and terminal No. 4. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair wire to ground.
  4. Unplug one-pin connector from control unit. Check for continuity between connector terminal and ground. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, check antenna circuit.
  5. Unplug harness connector from Local Control Unit (LCU). Turn ignition off. Check for battery voltage at terminal No. 9 of connector. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, check and repair ignition switch circuit.
  6. Close all doors and trunk lid. Check for continuity between ground and 6-pin connector terminal No. 4, and between ground and 14-pin connector terminal No. 13. If continuity is present, check door switch circuit. If continuity is not present, replace control unit.
