Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor

CKP sensor is located on transmission housing, facing flywheel teeth. The sensor consists of a permanent magnet, core and coil. As teeth of the flywheel pass the sensor, a voltage signal to ECM changes. The ECM uses this signal to detect a fluctuation in engine speed (misfire), and is not used for engine control.
