Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor

ECT sensor is a thermistor installed in engine coolant passage. This sensor modifies a voltage signal from ECM. As temperature increases, thermistor resistance decreases. ECM uses this information for controlling air/fuel mixture, ignition timing, idle speed control, EGR operation and other functions.
