LAN Communications Check
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect Nissan's CONSULT scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). See Fig 1
. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Touch START, then IVMS on scan tool display. Touch IVMS COMM CHECK, then IVMS COMM DIAGNOSIS on scan tool display. Touch START on scan tool display. If fault is present, go to step 3
. If fault is not present, go to next step.
- View data line communications relative to BCM input signals and various related data for each system. To isolate failure or reset a fault code, perform active testing commands using scan tool to activate related actuators, relays and lamps. If failure cannot be duplicated, multiplex control system is okay.
- If FAILURE DETECTED is displayed on scan tool, record all information for all faults present. Clear trouble codes. See CLEARING TROUBLE CODES USING SCAN TOOL
. Retest multiplex control system and attempt to reset failure. If same fault is detected, replace appropriate component or LCU. See DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS
table. If fault cannot be duplicated, multiplex control system is currently functioning correctly.
