TAC Module Code 11: Throttle Position (TP) Sensor Signal Input Circuit

  1. Disconnect TAC module harness connector. Check terminals for damage or loose connections. Reconnect TAC module harness connector. Repeat ABS/TCS self-diagnostic procedure. While observing dash warning indicators, turn ignition on. If SLIP and TCS OFF indicator light illuminates during bulb check, system is okay. If SLIP and TCS OFF indicator light does not illuminate during bulb check, go to next step.
  2. Check PCM for DTCs. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - Q45 article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Retrieve any DTCs set. If ECM DTC P0120 is present, go to appropriate DTC test procedure. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - Q45 article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If no engine performance type DTCs are set, continue with self-diagnostics for TAC module related fault.
  3. Turn ignition off. Check continuity between TAC module harness connector terminal No. 2 (Blue/Black wire) and ECM harness connector terminal No. 61 (Blue/Black wire). Continuity should exist. If continuity is as specified, go to next step. If continuity is not as specified, repair circuit or harness connectors.
  4. Check continuity between chassis ground and TAC module harness connector terminal No. 2 (Blue/Black wire). Continuity should not exist. If continuity is as specified, go to next step. If continuity is not as specified, repair circuit or harness connector.
  5. Check continuity between TAC module harness connector terminal No. 1 (Black wire) and ECM harness connector terminal No. 129 (Black wire). Continuity should exist. If continuity is as specified, go to next step. If continuity is not as specified, repair circuit or harness connector.
  6. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, check voltage between TAC module harness connector terminals No. 1 (Black wire) and No. 2 (Blue/Black wire). See Figure . Voltage reading should be .3-3.3 volts, depending on accelerator pedal position. If voltage reading is as specified, reconnect all connectors and retest system If voltage reading is not as specified, replace ECM.
