ABS/TCS DTC 58: Communication Line Between ABS/TCS Control Unit & TAC Module
- DTC 58 indicates a fault in communication line between ABS/TCS control unit and TAC module. Disconnect ABS/TCS control and TAC module connectors. check for continuity as follows. See Figure
and Figure
.
- Between ABS/TCS control unit connector terminal No. 21 (Blue wire) and TAC module connector terminal No. 13 (Blue wire).
- Between ABS/TCS control unit connector terminal No. 25 (Black/White wire) and TAC module connector terminal No. 12 (Black/White wire).
If continuity is not present, repair harness as necessary. If continuity is present, go to next step.
- Leave TAC module disconnected. Using a oscilloscope, check for waveform pattern between TAC module connector terminal No. 12 (Black/White wire) and body ground immediately after turning ignition on. If a 7-volt waveform pattern is displayed, go to next step. If a 7-volt waveform pattern is not displayed, replace ABS/TCS control module.
- Turn ignition off. Reconnect TAC module connector. Turn ignition on. Using oscilloscope, check for waveform pattern between the following TAC module connector terminals after turning ignition on:
- Between TAC module connector terminal No. 12 (Black/White wire) and body ground.
- Between TAC module connector terminal No. 13 (Blue wire) and body ground.
If 7-volt waveform pattern displayed is correct, replace ABS/TCS control module. If 7-volt waveform pattern displayed is not correct, replace TAC module. See Fig 1 .
