TAC Module Code 31: Start Signal Circuit

  1. Check fuse No. 34 (7.5-amp) located in junction block fuse box. If fuse is open, replace fuse. If fuse blows, locate and repair short to ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If fuse is okay, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect TAC module harness connector. Check terminals for damage or loose connections. Reconnect TAC module connector. Repeat ABS/TCS self-diagnostic procedure. While observing dash warning indicators, turn ignition on. If SLIP and TCS OFF indicator light illuminates during bulb check, system is okay. If SLIP and TCS OFF indicator light does not illuminate during bulb check, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect TAC module and PCM harness connectors. Check continuity between TAC module 16-pin connector terminal No. 110 (Light Blue wire) and PCM harness terminal No. 80 (Light Blue wire). See Figure . If continuity exists, repair harness as necessary. If continuity does not exist, go to next step.
  4. Reconnect PCM harness connector. Turn ignition on. Check for voltage between TAC module 16-pin connector terminal No. 110 (Light Blue wire) and ground. If voltage reading is about 12 volts, system is okay at this time. If voltage reading is not about 12 volts, repair Light Blue wire between TAC module 16-pin connector terminal No. 110 (Light Blue wire) and junction block fuse box fuse No. 34 (7.5-amp). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
