Riding Height Adjustment

NOTE: For wheel alignment specifications and procedures on QX4, refer to Pathfinder in Nissan SPECIFICATIONS & PROCEDURES article.
NOTE: Prior to performing wheel alignment, perform preliminary visual and mechanical inspection of wheels, tires, and suspension components. See PRE-ALIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS in WHEEL ALIGNMENT THEORY & OPERATION in appropriate GENERAL INFORMATION article.

Before adjusting alignment, measure riding height. Riding height must be measured with vehicle on level floor, tires properly inflated, and with no treadwear indicators showing. Ensure fuel tank, radiator, and crankcase are full. Ensure spare tire, jack, hand tools, and floor mats are in proper positions. Bounce vehicle several times and allow suspension to settle.

Visually inspect vehicle for signs of abnormal height from front to rear or side to side. Check passenger and luggage compartments for heavy items (remove them if present). If riding height is not within specification, inspect and repair or replace suspension components. See RIDING HEIGHT SPECIFICATIONS  table.
