DTC P0180: Fuel Tank Temperature (FTT) Sensor: Procedure
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect FTT sensor harness connector, located behind access panel under rear seat. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between FTT sensor harness connector Light Green/Black wire and ground. If voltage is about 5 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not about 5 volts, repair open or short in Light Green/Black wire.
- Turn ignition off. Check continuity between FTT harness connector Black wire and ground. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in Black wire.
- Remove FTT sensor. Measure resistance between sensor terminals. At 68°F (20°C), resistance should be 2300-2700 ohms. At 122°F (50°C), resistance should be 790-900 ohms. Resistance should decrease as temperature increases. See Figure. If resistance is not as specified, replace FTT sensor. If resistance is as specified, go to next step.
- No problem is currently indicated. Problem may be intermittent. See TESTING PROCEDURE under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - INTRODUCTION article.
