DTC Confirmation Test (Using Generic Scan Tool)

NOTE: Use the following test to check overall function of EVAP purge flow monitoring system. During this test, 1st trip DTC may not be confirmed.
  1. Raise drive wheels and support vehicle. Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Ensure Traction Control System (TCS) is turned off. Turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds.
CAUTION: DO NOT use ECM ground terminals when measuring voltage.
  2. Start engine and wait at least 70 seconds. With engine idling, measure and record voltage between ground and EVAP-CSPS signal circuit at ECM terminal No. 84 (White wire) by backprobing. See Figure and Figure .
  3. With transmission in a forward gear, turn A/C, headlights and rear window defogger on. Hold steering wheel in the fully turned position. Increase engine speed to about 3000 RPM.
  4. While observing voltmeter, maintain conditions in step  3 for at least one minute. Voltage should remain .1 volt less than voltage measured at idle.
  5. If voltage is not as specified, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If voltage is as specified, system is okay at this time.
