DTC Confirmation Procedure
NOTE:
If DTC confirmation procedure has been previously conducted, always turn ignition switch to OFF position and wait at least 10 seconds before conducting the next test. Always perform this test at a temperature of 41°F (5°C) or more.
Using CONSULT-II
- Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position and wait at least 10 seconds.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position.
- Select DATA MONITOR mode.
- Ensure FUEL T/TEMP SE parameter is more than 32°F (0°C).
- Start engine and wait at least 20 seconds. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If 1st trip DTC is not detected, system is okay at this time.
Using GST
- Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
- Check that voltage between ECM terminal No. 107 (fuel tank temperature sensor signal) and ground is less than 4.2 volts. See Fig 1.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position and wait at least 10 seconds.
- Start engine and wait for at least 20 seconds.
- Select MODE 7. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If 1st trip DTC is not detected, system is okay at this time.
