DTC Confirmation Test (Using CONSULT-II)

NOTE: Use only a genuine Nissan fuel filler cap. If an incorrect cap is used or is not tightened properly, MIL may illuminate.
  1. Ensure fuel level is between 1/4 and 3/4 full and vehicle is placed on a level surface. Perform test at a temperature of 32-86°F (0-30°C).
  2. Turn ignition on. Turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds.
  3. Turn ignition on. Select DATA MONITOR. Ensure COOLAN TEMP/S is 32-158°F (0-70°C) and INT/A TEMP SE is 32-86°F (0-30°C).
  4. Select EVAP SML LEAK P0442/P1442 of EVAPORATIVE SYSTEM in DTC WORK SUPPORT mode. Follow instructions displayed. If engine speed cannot be maintained within range displayed on CONSULT-II screen, go to TROUBLESHOOTING - NO CODES article.
  5. Ensure that OK is displayed. If NG is displayed, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . Ensure that EVAP hoses are properly connected to EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve.
