DTC Confirmation Test (Using Generic Scan Tool)

NOTE: If a DTC confirmation test has been previously performed, turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds before performing next DTC confirmation test.
  1. Start engine and warm it to normal operating temperature.
  2. Ensure voltage between engine ground and ECM connector terminal No. 75 (backprobe) is less than 4.2 volts.
  3. Turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds.
  4. Start engine and wait at least 20 seconds.
  5. Select MODE 7 with generic scan tool.
  6. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If 1st trip DTC is not detected, system is okay at this time.
