DTC Confirmation Test (Using Generic Scan Tool)

NOTE: Never remove fuel filler cap during DTC confirmation test.
  1. Ensure fuel level is between 1/4 and 3/4 full and vehicle is on level surface. Ensure EVAP hoses are connected properly to EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve.
  2. Open engine hood.
  3. Start engine. Drive vehicle according to specified driving pattern to set System Readiness Test (SRT) codes. See SYSTEM READINESS TEST  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  4. Stop vehicle. Select MODE 1. If SRT of EVAP is set, result will be OK. If SRT of EVAP is not set, turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds.
  5. Start engine again. Drive vehicle according to specified driving pattern to set System Readiness Test (SRT) codes. See SYSTEM READINESS TEST  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  6. Stop vehicle. Select MODE 3. If P0455 is displayed, see DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If P0442 is displayed, see DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  under P0442. If P0441 is displayed, see DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  under P0441.
  7. If P0455, P0442 and P0441 are not displayed, select MODE 1. If SRT of EVAP is set, result will be OK. If SRT of EVAP is not set, repeat test from step  5 .
