DTC Confirmation Test (Using CONSULT-II)

NOTE: The following test may be performed with drive wheels lifted or by road testing vehicle.
  1. Start engine. Read VHCL SPEED SE in DATA MONITOR mode with CONSULT-II. If VHCL SPEED SE exceeds 6 MPH when rotating wheels at more than 6 MPH, go to next step. If VHCL SPEED SE does not exceed 6 MPH when rotating wheels at more than 6 MPH, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  .
  2. Select DATA MONITOR mode with CONSULT-II. Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Maintain the following conditions for at least 60 consecutive seconds:
    • ENG SPEED: 1400-6000 RPM.
    • COOLAN TEMP/S: more than 158°F (70°C).
    • B/FUEL SCHDL: 4.5-31.9 msec.
    • PW/ST SIGNAL: OFF.

    If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If 1st trip DTC is not detected, system is okay at this time.
