Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Confirm that PCV hose is connected correctly. Repair or replace as necessary. If PCV hose is okay, go to next step.
  2. Start engine and let it idle. Listen for an intake air leak after the mass airflow sensor. If air leak is found, repair as necessary. If air leak is not found, go to next step.
  3. Stop engine. Replace ECM. After replacement, perform ACCELERATOR PEDAL RELEASED POSITION LEARNING procedure, THROTTLE VALVE CLOSED POSITION LEARNING procedure and IDLE AIR VOLUME LEARNING procedure. See PROGRAMMING  .
