Body Control Module/SDM Replacement

NOTE: The AIR BAG indicator may remain ON after SDM is replaced. After programming SDM part number into BCM, cycle ignition switch OFF and ON. This turns off AIR BAG indicator and clears DTC.

When inflatable restraint Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) has been replaced, BCM must be updated with new part number. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Select SPECIAL FUNCTIONS option from SIR Menu and press ENTER. Select SETUP SDM PART NUMBER in BCM option and press ENTER. Follow procedure on scan tool display. Cycle ignition switch OFF and to RUN.
