Remote Keyless Entry Transmitter Programming

NOTE: A Tech 2 scan tool is recommended for programming purposes. Consult scan tool manufacturer owner manual for other scan tools to determine compatibility and usage.
NOTE: Scan tool must stay connected until all transmitters are programmed.
  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located under driver side of instrument panel. Turn ignition switch to RUN position.
  2. Select REMOTE FUNCTION ACTUATION. Select SPECIAL FUNCTIONS. Select PROGRAM KEY FOBS. Select number of key fobs to be programmed.
  3. Press and hold LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously on first transmitter for approximately 15 seconds. Power locks should cycle to confirm programming of first fob is complete.
  4. Repeat previous step to program up to 4 transmitters.
  5. Remove scan tool. Exit vehicle. Using remote transmitter, attempt to lock/unlock doors to verify programming. Operate all transmitter functions to verify correct system operation.
