Key Switch (Insert) Check

CHECK KEY SWITCH INPUT SIGNAL

With CONSULT-II

Check key switch "KEY ON SW" in DATA MONITOR mode with CONSULT-II. Refer to "DATA MONITOR ".

When key is inserted to ignition key cylinder:
KEY ON SW : ON
When key is removed from ignition key cylinder:
KEY ON SW : OFF

Without CONSULT-II

Check voltage between BCM connector M18 terminal 37 and ground.

OK or NG

OK : Key switch (insert) circuit is OK.
NG : GO TO 2.

CHECK KEY SWITCH (INSERT)

Turn ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect key switch and key lock solenoid.

Check continuity between key switch and key lock solenoid terminals 3, 4.

TERMINALS CONTINUITY CHART

Terminals	Condition	Continuity
3 - 4	Key is inserted.	Yes
3 - 4	Key is removed.	No

OK or NG

OK : Repair or replace harness.
NG : Replace key switch.
