Diagnosis Procedure
WARNING:
- Before servicing, turn ignition switch OFF, disconnect battery negative terminal, and wait 3 minutes or more. (To discharge backup capacitor.)
- Never use unspecified tester or other measuring device.
- CHECK HARNESS CONNECTOR
Check the harness connector.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO STEP 2 .
NO
Replace harness connector.
- CHECK WIRING HARNESS
Check the wiring harness externals.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO STEP 3 .
NO
Replace wiring harness.
- CHECK SPIRAL CABLE CIRCUIT
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect driver air bag module harness connector and combination switch (spiral cable) harness connector.
- Check continuity between driver air bag module harness connector and combination switch (spiral cable) harness connector.
Driver air bag module Combination switch (spiral cable) Continuity Connector Terminal Connector Terminal M301 10 M32 28 Existed 11 30 - Check continuity between driver air bag module harness connector and ground.
Driver side air bag module Ground Continuity Connector Terminal M301 10 Not existed 11
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO STEP 4 .
NO
Replace combination switch (spiral cable). Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- REPLACE AIR BAG DIAGNOSIS SENSOR UNIT
- Replace air bag diagnosis sensor unit. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform DTC confirmation procedure. Refer to DTC LOGIC .
Is DTC detected?
YES
GO TO STEP 5 .
NO
INSPECTION END
- REPLACE DRIVER AIR BAG MODULE
- Replace driver air bag module. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform DTC confirmation procedure. Refer to DTC LOGIC .
Is DTC detected?
YES
GO TO STEP 1 .
NO
INSPECTION END
