Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR POWER SUPPLY

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect heated oxygen sensor harness connector.
    3. Turn ignition switch ON.
    4. Check the voltage between heated oxygen sensor harness connector and ground.
      + - Voltage
      Heated oxygen sensor
      Connector Terminal
      F183 1 Ground Battery voltage

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 3  .

    NO 

    GO TO STEP 2  .

  2. CHECK HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Check that #98 fuse is not blown (open).
    3. Check the continuity between heated oxygen sensor harness connector and fuse terminal.
      + - Continuity
      Heated oxygen sensor
      Connector Terminal
      F183 1 #98 fuse terminal Existed
    4. Also check harness for short to power and short to ground.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    Perform trouble diagnosis for power supply circuit.

    NO 

    Repair or replace error-detected parts.

  3. CHECK HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR HEATER CONTROL CIRCUIT

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect ECM harness connector.
    3. Check the continuity between heated oxygen sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector.
      + - Continuity
      Heated oxygen sensor ECM
      Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
      F183 2 F150 95 Existed
      3 13
      4 37
    4. Also check harness for short to ground, short to power, and short to each circuit.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    Replace heated oxygen sensor. Refer to EXPLODED VIEW WITH TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

    NO 

    Repair or replace error-detected parts.
