Diagnostic Test

Check the sub motor angle sensor. Refer to COMPONENT INSPECTION .

Is the inspection result normal?

YES 

GO TO STEP 2  .

NO 

Sub motor angle sensor is malfunction. Replace steering gear assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

1. Disconnect steering angle sub control module and sub motor angle sensor harness connector.
2. Check the continuity between control module harness connector and angle sensor harness connector.

3. Check the continuity between control module harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES 

GO TO STEP 3  .

NO 

Repair or replace error - detected part.

1. Check enlarged contact spring of terminal. Refer to HOW TO CHECK TERMINAL .
2. Perform intermittent incident while turning steering wheel. Refer to INTERMITTENT INCIDENT .

Is the inspection result normal?

YES 

Replace steering angle sub control module. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

NO 

Repair or replace error - detected part.
