Diagnosis Procedure

  1. CHECK ENCODER SIGNAL

    1. Turn ignition switch ON.
    2. Check signal between Power Window Sub-Switch harness connector and ground with oscilloscope.
      (+) (-) Signal
      (Reference Value)
      Power Window Sub-Switch
      Connector Terminal
      D21 12 Ground Refer to following signal

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    Replace Power Window Sub-Switch. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

    NO 

    GO TO STEP 2  .

  2. CHECK ENCODER SIGNAL CIRCUIT

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect Power Window Sub-Switch connector and Power Window Motor (Passenger Side) connector.
    3. Check continuity between Power Window Sub-Switch harness connector and Power Window Motor (Passenger Side) harness connector.

      D21 12 D25 2 Existed
      15 5
    4. Check continuity between Power Window Sub-Switch harness connector and ground.
      Power Window Sub-Switch Ground Continuity

      D21 12 Not existed
      15

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 3  .

    NO 

    Repair or replace harness.

  3. CHECK ENCODER POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT 1

    1. Connect Power Window Sub-Switch connector.
    2. Turn ignition switch ON.
    3. Check voltage between Power Window Motor (Passenger Side) harness connector and ground.
      (+) (-) Voltage (V)
      Power Window Motor (Passenger Side)
      Connector Terminal
      D25 4 Ground 9 - 16

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 5  .

    NO 

    GO TO STEP 4  .

  4. CHECK ENCODER POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT 2

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect Power Window Sub-Switch connector.
    3. Check continuity between Power Window Sub-Switch harness connector and Power Window Motor (Passenger Side) harness connector.
      Power Window Sub-Switch Power Window Motor (Passenger Side) Continuity
      Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
      D21 4 D25 4 Existed
    4. Check continuity between Power Window Sub-Switch harness connector and ground.
      Power Window Sub-Switch (-) Continuity
      Connector Terminal
      D21 4 Ground Not existed

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    Replace Power Window Sub-Switch. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

    NO 

    Repair or replace harness.

  5. CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT 1

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect Power Window Sub-Switch connector.
    3. Check continuity between Power Window Sub-Switch harness connector and Power Window Motor (Passenger Side) harness connector.
      Power Window Sub-Switch Power Window Motor (Passenger Side) Continuity
      Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
      D21 3 D25 1 Existed

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 6  .

    NO 

    Repair or replace harness.

  6. CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT 2

    1. Connect Power Window Sub-Switch connector.
    2. Check continuity between Power Window Sub-Switch connector and ground.
      Power Window Sub-Switch (-) Continuity
      Connector Terminal
      D21 3 Ground Not existed

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    Replace Power Window Motor (Passenger Side). Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

    NO 

    Replace Power Window Sub-Switch. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
