Precautions For Speed Limiter
If driver fail to adapt driving style, the speed limiter can neither reduce the risk of an accident nor override the laws of physics. The speed limiter cannot take into account road, weather or traffic conditions. The speed limiter is only an aid. driver are responsible for the distance to the vehicle in front, for vehicle speed, for braking in good time, and for staying in lane.
If there is a change of drivers, advise the new driver of the speed stored.
- Always observe posted speed limits. Do not set the speed over them.
- Always confirm the setting status of the speed limiter on the vehicle information display. When the speed limiter is on, the cruise control or the Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) system (where fitted) cannot be operated.
When the speed limiter is on, the cruise control or the Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) system (where fitted) cannot be operated.
If driver call up the stored speed and it is lower than the current speed, the vehicle decelerates. If driver do not know the stored speed, the vehicle could decelerate unexpectedly. There is a risk of an accident.
Pay attention to the road and traffic conditions before calling up the stored speed. If driver do not know the stored speed, store the desired speed again.
