Diagnostic Test

1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect ECT sensor 1 harness connector.
3. Remove ECT sensor 1. Refer to COMPONENT LOCATION .
4. Check resistance between ECT sensor 1 terminals by heating with hot water as shown in the figure.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES 

GO TO STEP 2  .

NO 

Proceed to DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE .

Check intermittent incident. Refer to INTERMITTENT INCIDENT .

Is the inspection result normal?

YES 

INSPECTION END

NO 

Proceed to DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE .
