ICC Sensor: Task
The ICC sensor assesses the traffic situation ahead of the vehicle through evaluation of the data from the radar. The detected data serve to implement the following functions:
- Cruise control
- Permanent limiter (ASL)
- Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC)
- Forward Emergency Braking (FEB)
The ICC sensor compares the permanent target and actual values with each other and evaluates the respective driver requirements. In order to implement the automatic clearance and speed control the ICC sensor transmits the respective requests for acceleration, deceleration and switching via the CAN communication after evaluation of all input factors. This means that the ICC sensor has the following individual tasks:
- Reception of input factors
- Evaluation of input factors
- Transmission of initial parameters
