The ICC Sensor Issues The Following Initial Parameters (Requests)

Raise/Reduce Engine Torque:

The ICC sensor transmits the request "increase/reduce engine torque" via the CAN communication to the electronic stability program control unit. The electronic stability program control unit evaluates this request as well as further driving dynamic requests and transmits them via the CAN communication to the ECM.

The ECM implements this request.

Engage Targeted Gear (Downshift Or Upshift):

The ICC sensor transmits the request "engage targeted gear" via the CAN communication to the electronic stability program control unit. The electronic stability program control unit evaluates the input factors as well as further driving dynamic requests and transmits them according to their relevance via CAN communication to the ECM and CAN communication to the TCM.

This request is however to be understood as a switching recommendation. Downshifting or upshifting of the A/T takes place autonomously itself by the TCM, dependent on the current operating condition.

Raise/Reduce Braking Torque:

The ICC sensor transmits the request "increase braking torque" or "reduce braking torque" via the CAN communication to the electronic stability program control unit. The electronic stability program control unit reacts by directly actuating the traction system hydraulic unit, which reacts by increasing or decreasing the braking torque according to the brake torque.

Object Information:

The ICC sensor transmits object information (for example the distance and relative speed to the target vehicle and the movement status of the target vehicle) via the CAN communication to the ECM.

Emit Warning Tones, System Or Warning Messages:

The ICC sensor sends the requests to output warning tones, system or warning messages via CAN communication, electronic ignition lock control unit and CAN communication to the combination meter. The respective system or warning messages are issued over the multifunction display and the warning buzzer is directly actuated.
