DTC Confirmation Procedure

If DTC P2587 is displayed with another DTC P0643, first perform the trouble diagnosis for DTC P0643.

Is applicable DTC detected?

YES

Perform diagnosis of applicable. Refer to DTC Description .

NO

GO TO 2.

If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always perform the following procedure before conducting the next test.

1. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
2. Turn ignition switch ON.
3. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.

TEST CONDITION:

Before performing the following procedure, confirm that battery voltage is more than 11 V at idle.

GO TO 3.

1. Start the engine, and warm it up until the following condition is satisfied.

   Engine coolant temperature	65 deg.C (149 deg.F) or more
   Engine oil temperature	80 deg.C (176 deg.F) or more

2. Move the vehicle to a cool place.
3. Stop the engine, and cool it down until the following condition is satisfied.

   Engine coolant temperature	50 deg.C (122 deg.F) or less
   Engine oil temperature

   CAUTION: Never turn ignition switch ON during soaking.
4. Start engine and let it idle for 5 seconds or more.
   CAUTION: Never turn ignition switch OFF during idling.
5. Check 1st trip DTC.

Is 1st trip DTC detected?

YES

Proceed to Diagnosis Procedure .

NO

To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident .

NO

Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END
