Diagnosis Procedure
- CHECK DTC PRIORITY
If DTC P1233 or P2101 is displayed with DTC P1238 or P1290, first perform the confirmation procedure for DTC P1238 or P1290.
Is applicable DTC detected?
YES
Perform diagnosis of applicable.
- DTC P1238: Refer to DTC Description .
- DTC P1290: Refer to DTC Description .
NO
GO TO 2.
- CHECK FUSE
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect 15 A fuse (No. 63) from IPDM E/R.
- Check 15 A fuse for blown.
Is the fuse blown (open)?
YES
Replace the fuse. [Check the power supply if fuse is blown (open) again.]
NO
GO TO 3.
- CHECK THROTTLE CONTROL MOTOR RELAY INPUT SIGNAL
Check the voltage between ECM harness connector terminals as per the following.

YES
GO TO 6.
NO
GO TO 4.
- CHECK THROTTLE CONTROL MOTOR RELAY POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect ECM harness connector.
- Disconnect IPDM E/R harness connector.
- Check the continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and ECM harness connector.

YES
GO TO 5.
NO
Repair or replace error-detected parts.
- CHECK THROTTLE CONTROL MOTOR RELAY INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT
- Check the continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and ECM harness connector.

NO
Repair or replace error-detected parts.
- Check the continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and ECM harness connector.
- CHECK THROTTLE CONTROL MOTOR OUTPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN OR SHORT
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect electric throttle control actuator harness connector.
- Disconnect ECM harness connector.
- Check the continuity between electric throttle control actuator harness connector and ECM harness connector.

- Also check harness for short to ground and short to power.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO 7.
NO
Repair or replace error-detected parts.
- CHECK ELECTRIC THROTTLE CONTROL ACTUATOR VISUALLY
- Remove the intake air duct. Refer to Exploded View .
- Check if foreign matter is caught between the throttle valve and the housing.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO 8.
NO
- Remove the foreign matter and clean the electric throttle control actuator inside.
- Perform throttle valve closed position leaning. Refer to Description .
- CHECK THROTTLE CONTROL MOTOR
Refer to Component Inspection (Throttle Control Motor) .
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
INSPECTION END
NO
Replace malfunction electric throttle control actuator. Refer to Exploded View .
