Function Sequence For Variable Speed Limiter
The maximum speed of the vehicle can be limited at any time to a freely selectable value [(e.g. 50 km/h (31.1 MPH) in urban traffic] over the variable speed limiter.
The driver can accelerate the vehicle up to the set limit. If the set limit was reached, the following activities are started:
- Reduce engine torque
- Engage targeted gear
- Raise braking torque
NOTE:
If switching takes place on the variable speed limiter on the cruise control lever, the automatic speed control is deactivated.
NOTE:
The following events deactivate the variable speed limiter:
- Operation of the OFF switch
- Kickdown (accelerator pedal pressed by more than 90% and vehicle speed 20 km/h (12.4 MPH) difference from selected maximum speed)
