Diagnosis Procedure
- INSPECTION START
Check the following items.
- Out of gas
- Low fuel pressure line open
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO 2.
NO
Repair or replace error-detected parts.
- COMPONENT FUNCTION CHECK
- Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 30 seconds.
- Listen to fuel pump operation sound for a few seconds after ignition switch is turned ON.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
INSPECTION END
NO
GO TO 3.
- CHECK FPCM POWER SUPPLY
Check FPCM power supply and ground circuit. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure .
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO 4.
NO
Repair or replace error-detected parts.
- CHECK FUEL PUMP CONTROL CIRCUIT
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect FPCM harness connector and fuel level sensor unit and fuel pump harness connector.
- Check the continuity between FPCM harness connector and fuel level sensor unit and fuel pump harness connector.2WD models

Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO 5.
NO
Repair or replace error-detected parts.
- CHECK FUEL PUMP
Check fuel pump. Refer to Component Inspection (Fuel Pump) .
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO 6.
NO
Replace fuel pump.
- CHECK FUEL PUMP ACTIVATION SIGNAL CIRCUIT
- Disconnect ECM harness connector.
- Check the continuity between FPCM harness connector and ECM harness connector.2WD models
