Active Test Mode

JUDGEMENT

CHECK ITEM (REMEDY)

AUTO STOP START

Engine: After warming up, run engine at idle

  • Selector lever: N or P
  • "Start" and "Cancel" using CONSULT

Check the stop/start system operate and restart.

  • Harness and connectors
  • IPDM E/R
  • Starter motor
  • Engine restart relay
  • Starter control relay
CAUTION:
  • Be careful so that a hood operates in the opened state when carry out work.
  • Shift the select lever position to "P" position, because operate regardless of the brake pedal position.

ENG COOLANT TEMP

  • Engine: Return to the original trouble condition
  • Change the engine coolant temperature using CONSULT.

If trouble symptom disappears, see CHECK ITEM.

  • Harness and connectors
  • Engine coolant temperature sensor
  • Fuel injector

FUEL INJECTION

  • Engine: Return to the original trouble condition
  • Change the amount of fuel injection using CONSULT.

If trouble symptom disappears, see CHECK ITEM.

  • Harness and connectors
  • Fuel injector
  • Air fuel ratio (A/F) sensor 1

PURG VOL CONT/V

  • Engine: After warming up, run engine at 1, 500 rpm.
  • Change the EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve opening percent using CONSULT.

Engine speed changes according to the opening percent.

  • Harness and connectors
  • Solenoid valve

FUEL/T TEMP SEN

Change the fuel tank temperature using CONSULT.

POWER BALANCE

  • Engine: After warming up, idle the engine.
  • A/C switch OFF
  • Selector lever: P or N
  • Cut off each injector signal one at a time using CONSULT.

Engine runs rough or dies.

  • Harness and connectors
  • Compression
  • Fuel injector
  • Power transistor
  • Spark plug
  • Ignition coil

EXT V/T ASSIGN ANGLE

  • Engine: Return to the original non-standard condition
  • Change exhaust valve timing using CONSULT.

If malfunctioning symptom disappears, see CHECK ITEM.

  • Harness and connectors
  • Exhaust valve timing control solenoid valve

ENGINE MOUNTING

  • Ignition switch: ON
  • Turn electronic controlled engine mount "IDLE" and "TRVL" with CONSULT.

Electronic controlled engine mount makes the operating sound.

  • Electronic controlled engine mount

VIAS S/V-1

  • Ignition switch: ON (Engine stopped)
  • Turn solenoid valve "ON" and "OFF" using CONSULT and listen to operating sound.

Solenoid valve makes the operating sound

  • Harness and connectors
  • Solenoid valve

ACTIVE GRILLE SHUTTER

To check the operation of the active grille shutter, follow the steps below:

  1. Park the vehicle in a safe area and apply the parking brake.
  2. Start the engine or bring the vehicle into READY state.
  3. Press the "CALIBRTN" button.
  4. Select the "OPEN" or "CLOSE" button to check the operation.

Active grille shutter fully opens or fully closes.

  • Harness or connector
  • Active grille shutter actuator
  • Active grille shutter

VENT CONTROL/V

  • Ignition switch: ON (Engine stopped)
  • Turn solenoid valve "ON" and "OFF" with the CONSULT and listen to operating sound.

Solenoid valve makes an operating sound.

  • Harness and connectors
  • Solenoid valve

FAN DUTY CONTROL*

  • Ignition switch: ON
  • Change duty ratio using CONSULT.

Cooling fan speed changes.

  • Harness and connectors
  • Cooling fan motor
  • Cooling fan relay
  • Cooling fan control module
  • IPDM E/R

VIAS S/V-2

  • Ignition switch: ON (Engine stopped)
  • Turn solenoid valve "ON" and "OFF" using CONSULT and listen to operating sound.

Solenoid valve makes the operating sound

  • Harness and connectors
  • Solenoid valve

AUTO STOP START

Engine: After warming up, run engine at idle

  • Selector lever: N or P
  • "Start" and "Cancel" using CONSULT

Check the stop/start system operate and restart.

  • Harness and connectors
  • IPDM E/R
  • Starter motor
  • Engine restart relay
  • Starter control relay
CAUTION:

FPCM

  • Engine: Return to the original trouble condition
  • Select "LOW", "MID" and "HI" with CONSULT.

Fuel pump speed changes or stops.

  • Harness and connectors
  • Fuel pump control module (FPCM)

IGNITION TIMING

  • Engine: Return to the original trouble condition
  • Timing light: Set
  • Retard the ignition timing using CONSULT.

If trouble symptom disappears, see CHECK ITEM.

Perform Idle Air Volume Learning.

*: Leaving cooling fan OFF with CONSULT while engine is running may cause the engine to overheat.
