CONSULT Function

APPLICATION ITEMS 

CONSULT can display each diagnostic item using the diagnostic test modes as follows.

*1: In some vehicles, it is not malfunctioning in case of no display of "CGW Information". In this case, it is not necessary to switch the CGW status. In vehicles where "CGW information" is not displayed, "Work Support" and "Active Test" are always displayed.

*2: Displays when performing "Diagnosis (All System)".

CGW INFORMATION 

Display the diagnosis mode which a user can perform in Diag Test mode/Open Mode by switching the CGW status from Restricted mode to Diag Test Mode/Open Mode.

For the method of switching CAN Gateway status, refer to CONSULT Function .

NOTE: SYMBOL In some vehicles, it is not malfunctioning in case of no display of "CGW Information". In this case, it is not necessary to switch the CGW status.

SELF DIAGNOSTIC RESULT 

Refer to DTC Index . When "CRNT" is displayed on self-diagnosis result:

Freeze frame data (FFD) 

When DTC is detected, a vehicle state shown below is recorded and displayed on CONSULT.

FL wheel speed pulse (stop hold) - Displays the wheel speed pulse count on hold (front LH)
RR wheel speed pulse (stop hold) - Displays the wheel speed pulse count on hold (R/R)
RL wheel speed pulse (stop hold) - Displays the wheel speed pulse count on hold (rear LH)
ICC status Off / Operation / Stop / Wait / Suspend / Brake mode / Regulation / Driver override / Malfunction Displays the control status of ADAS system.

ACTIVE TEST 

The "Active Test" is used to determine and identify details of a malfunction, based on self-diagnosis test results and data obtained in the "Data Monitor". In response to instructions from CONSULT, instead of those from chassis control module on the vehicle, a drive signal is sent to the actuator to check its operation.

CAUTION:
  • Never perform "Active Test" while driving the vehicle.
  • Always bleed air from brake system before "Active Test".
  • Never perform "Active Test" when system is malfunctioning.
NOTE: SYMBOL During an "Active Test", sometimes a chassis control warning is displayed and the master warning lamp illuminates on the information display in the combination meter; however, this is not a malfunction.

BRAKE ACTUATOR 1 MODE 1 Start Controls brake fluid pressure.
BRAKE ACTUATOR 1 MODE 2 Start Controls brake fluid pressure.
BRAKE ACTUATOR 1 MODE 3 Start Controls brake fluid pressure.
MASTER WARNING ACTIVE On If touching "On" with the master warning lamp not illuminated, the master warning lamp illuminates.
Off The master warning lamp turns OFF. (vehicle in normal state)
Automatic brake hold lamp active Standby (white) lamp lighting Does not display the RH turning status on the information display in the combination meter.
Operation (green) lamp lighting Turn ON the automatic brake hold indicator lamp (green) in the combination meter.
Automatic brake hold SW lamp active LED lighting Turn ON the automatic brake hold switch indicator.
LED blinking (1Hz) Blink the automatic brake hold switch indicator.
Off Turn OFF the automatic brake hold switch indicator.

WORK SUPPORT 

Item Description
MAC KEY writing Write MAC key to chassis control module.

ECU IDENTIFICATION 

Chassis control module part number and hardware part number can be read.

RE/PROGRAMMING, CONFIGURATION 

Programing includes the following functions.

Function Description
Read Write Configuration Before replacing ECU
  • Allows the reading of vehicle specification (parts number) written in chassis control module to store the specification in CONSULT.
  • Allows the saving of vehicle specification (parts number) written in chassis control module to store the specification in CONSULT.
After replacing ECU Allows the writing of vehicle information (parts number) stored in CONSULT into the chassis control module.
