Knock Sensor: Description and Operation

Knock Sensor:

Spark knock (detonation) is controlled by an electronic spark control (ESC) system incorporated into the ECM. This system will retard ignition timing based on the signal from the knock sensor. This allows the engine to use maximum spark advance to improve driveability and fuel economy.
