Bench Testing: Commutator
CAUTION:
Some starters have a molded-type commutator. DO NOT undercut insulation, as serious damage to commutator may result.
If commutator out-of-round is more than .002" (.05 mm), replace commutator. Clean commutator with No. 240 grit emery cloth. If commutator cannot be cleaned replace.
